Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will remain in jail for now as CM Kejriwal’s judicial custody has been extended till July 3.

Earlier, the court had refused to grant interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the money laundering case related to the alleged excise policy scam. The court had also extended Kejriwal’s judicial custody till June 19. In the liquor policy case, the Rouse Avenue Court had extended the judicial custody of Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal.

Decision to take cognizance of the letter on July 9

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had said in the chargesheet that bribes were also taken from businessmen of Punjab in lieu of investing in the liquor business in the capital. It had also said that businessmen from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-ruled Punjab who did not pay bribes were not allowed to invest in the liquor business in the neighbouring state. For the first time, a case has been registered against a political party under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Kejriwal surrendered in Tihar

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal surrendered as per the date set by the Supreme Court. CM Kejriwal surrendered after visiting Rajghat, Hanuman temple and meeting party leaders.
